Some awards look the same years later as they did at the ceremony. On others the logo is scratched, the name is peeling at one corner, or the color came off with cleaning.
Often the acrylic is identical. What differs is how the text was applied.
Engraving does not peel
A laser adds nothing to the acrylic. It removes material. The name ends up inside the piece, with a frosted finish that reads by contrast against the light.
There is no layer to scratch and no ink to wash away. For the person name and the date, engraving is what we recommend nearly every time.
What engraving cannot do
Engraving is a single tone. If your logo depends on its color, the laser will render it in frosted white, and for some brands that is not enough.
That is where printing comes in. Done well, and protected on the right side of the piece, it matches the brand color exactly.
What we make most: both
For a corporate batch the most common choice is a mix: logo printed in color, and name, title and date laser engraved. The brand looks right and the personal part never wears off.
Before production we send a digital proof with the engraving and the print in place, so you approve the whole piece.
How to choose for your event
If the award will sit in view for years, on a desk or in a display case, the personal part gets engraved. If it is for a campaign or a one time event where brand color rules, printing can do the whole job.
If you cannot decide, ask for both versions in the digital proof. Seeing the same design engraved and in color, side by side, usually settles it in a minute.
Can engraving be in color?
Engraving on acrylic is single tone. When you need color, we combine it with printing on the same piece.
Do you engrave metal or tumblers?
Yes. We engrave metal parts, tumblers and mugs with logos, as well as acrylic.
Can you ship awards to the US?
Yes. We have shipped awards as far as Illinois, and we deliver regularly to San Diego, Chula Vista and Otay Mesa.
